About Tess Collins

Tess has a passion for helping people in their times of need. She is a warm, empathetic and accepting psychologist who loves connecting with clients and creating a safe space for them to explore their concerns.

Tess uses use a strengths-based, outcome-focused approach to assist clients to grow and move forward in their lives. She has experience working with clients with anxiety, stress, depression, burnout, interpersonal difficulties, those navigating key life transitions, and more. As Tess has completed a Masters of Psychology (Organisational) and is undertaking her endorsement in organisational psychology, she has a lot of experience working in the organisational space, helping clients with issues impacting workplace culture and environments, including workplace bullying and harassment, workload issues, and interpersonal dynamics. Tess uses person-centred therapeutic skills and evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients overcome their challenges. Tess recognises that each person is an expert of themselves and strives to integrate the client’s insights with her own knowledge to achieve outcomes that are important to the client.

A key element of Tess’ approach is helping clients to establish and achieve their therapeutic goals in a collaborative and respectful manner. She aims to assist her clients to achieve their goals, grow and feel more empowered through treatment.

Weekends and holidays spent travelling Australia or internationally (yes, before Covid-19 hit!), forest walks, beach trips, musical theatre, yoga, coffee catch ups with friends and nights spent watching Netflix.
