About Tess Collins
Tess has always had a passion for helping people in their time of need which led her to become a psychologist. She is a warm, empathetic and accepting psychologist who loves connecting with clients and creating a safe space for them to explore their concerns.
Tess’ work experience has exposed her to client concerns that include anxiety, stress, depression, interpersonal difficulties, managing key life transitions, compulsive thoughts and behaviours, and more. As Tess completed a Masters of Psychology (Organisational), she has a lot of experience working in the organisational space, helping clients with issues impacting workplace culture and environments, including workplace bullying and harassment, workload issues, and interpersonal dynamics. Tess uses person-centred therapeutic skills and evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients overcome their challenges they may face. Tess recognises that each person is the expert of themselves and strives to integrate the client’s insights with her own knowledge to achieve outcomes that are important to the client.
A key element of Tess’ approach is helping clients to establish and achieve their therapeutic goals in a collaborative and respectful manner. She aims to assist her clients reach their goals, grow and feel more empowered through treatment.
