ABOUT
Avi Winner
Avi understands that every individual has unique goals and challenges, and he views supporting people on their journey toward well-being and personal fulfilment as both a calling and a privilege. He takes a client-led, strengths-based approach, helping clients pursue their goals, navigate challenges, gain self-understanding, and maximise their well-being and achievement.
Avi believes that the foundation of effective therapy lies in the relationship between client and psychologist. With warmth, empathy, and respect, he strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel seen, valued, and understood.
With his diverse experience and easy ability to connect, Avi is well-suited to address a broad range of goals and challenges. (Some of) Avi's therapeutic interests include supporting neurodivergent individuals in professional and social settings, and life transitions such as parenthood, ageing, and grief. He also brings experience in psychological and diagnostic assessments, delivering thorough, accessible reports that aim to truly 'get' the individual and respond clearly to their questions.
Avi's journey into psychology followed a bachelor's degree in philosophy, where he explored questions around living a meaningful and fulfilling life. He then went on to complete a Master of Educational and Developmental Psychology at Monash University, and has conducted research in areas including ADHD and fatherhood.
