WHO WE SUPPORT
Navigating life after injury or while living with disability.
Workplace injuries, transport accidents, and living with disability can have significant psychological impacts that are often underestimated. Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and adjustment difficulties are common and treatable. Seeking support is not a sign of weakness. It is a practical step toward recovery.
Contemporary Psychology provides psychological services for clients accessing support through WorkCover insurance and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC). Our psychologists are experienced in working within these systems while keeping your recovery at the forefront of treatment.
If you are unsure whether you are eligible, or what documentation you need to bring, contact us and our admin team will guide you through the process.
WORKCOVER
Psychology services under WorkCover insurance.
WorkCover insurance in Victoria covers employers for the cost of benefits when employees are injured or become ill as a result of their work. It is compulsory for Victorian employers and funded by their contributions.
If eligible, psychological services can be funded under your WorkCover claim. You will need to bring accompanying paperwork to your first session. If you are unsure what is required, contact us before your appointment and we will advise.
WorkCover may cover:
Replacement of lost income during recovery
Medical and rehabilitation treatment costs, including psychology
Legal costs associated with the claim
Lump sum compensation in the event of a serious injury
TAC
Psychology services under the TAC.
The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a Victorian Government organisation set up to pay for treatments and benefits for people injured in transport accidents.
As part of your TAC funding, you may access a psychologist if you are suffering a psychological injury as a result of your accident. You will need approval from TAC and must provide us with the accompanying paperwork before or at your first session.
You can make a TAC claim if:
You, or someone you represent, was involved in an accident caused by the driving of a car, motorcycle, bus, train, or tram
You, or someone you represent, was injured or died in the accident
Pedestrians and cyclists injured or killed in accidents caused by those vehicles are also covered
