Autism Support and Growth Program
A structured psychological program for autistic adults. Deepen self-understanding, reduce masking, build practical strategies, and live in alignment with your strengths and needs.
WHAT IS THIS PROGRAM?
Practical strategies and affirming support for autistic adults.
The Autism Support and Growth Program at Contemporary Psychology is a structured psychological program developed to help autistic adults better understand themselves, manage common challenges, and feel more empowered in everyday life.
Whether you have been recently diagnosed or have known for some time, this program provides a supportive, affirming space to build insight, skills, and self-confidence. It is delivered by psychologists experienced in working with autistic adults, in a safe and respectful environment that honours neurodiversity.
The program combines psychoeducation with practical tools tailored to your unique experience and goals. It is not about fitting in. It is about living well as yourself. If you have not yet completed a formal ASD assessment, learn about our ASD assessment service.
HOW THIS PROGRAM HELPS
Many autistic adults navigate the world carrying ongoing stress, sensory overload, or a persistent sense of needing to mask their true selves. This program offers the space and tools to shift that.
Gain insight into your strengths, values, and lived experiences
Reduce exhaustion from constant masking and the pressure to fit in
Build emotional resilience and practical coping strategies
Develop self-confidence and genuine self-acceptance
Create routines that support wellbeing and reduce overwhelm
Improve communication and navigate relationships with more ease
PROGRAM MODULES
What the program covers.
Each module builds on the last, combining psychoeducation with practical tools. Sessions are paced to you, not to a rigid schedule.
Understanding Autism
Learn how autism presents in adults, explore common experiences, and reflect on how the diagnosis relates to your own life. Many participants describe this module as the first time they felt genuinely understood.
Masking and Authenticity
Understand the psychological and physical toll of masking, and explore what it means to gradually reduce the pressure to hide or perform. Authenticity is not a destination. It is something you build toward, at your own pace.
Managing Sensory Overload
Discover practical, evidence-informed techniques for regulating sensory input in everyday environments. Learn to identify your triggers, build your toolkit, and create conditions where you can function at your best.
Self-Care and Routines
Build sustainable habits and daily structures that support emotional balance without rigid perfectionism. We explore what actually works for autistic adults rather than what neurotypical productivity advice tells you should work.
Communication and Relationships
Explore how to navigate social interactions in a way that feels true to you. We focus on communication strategies that reduce anxiety without requiring you to mask or abandon who you are.
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
What you will take away.
Greater clarity about your identity, values, and needs
Practical strategies to support your mental health and daily wellbeing
Increased confidence in being your authentic self
Tools to navigate challenges at work, in relationships, and in daily routines
Reduced shame and a stronger sense of self-compassion
Connection to community resources and support networks
WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
The program is delivered in a neuro-affirming environment. There is no expectation to perform, mask, or be anything other than who you are. Our psychologists bring genuine curiosity and experience working with autistic adults across a wide range of presentations and backgrounds.
OUR APPROACH
Evidence-based, neuro-affirming, genuinely personalised.
Evidence-based practice
The program is grounded in the science of psychology and draws on validated approaches including psychoeducation, acceptance-based strategies, and cognitive-behavioural tools adapted for autistic adults.
Collaboration and genuine commitment
Our psychologists are passionate about co-designing your pathway with you, not prescribing one. Your story, your goals, and your lived experience shape the program from the beginning.
Personalised care
No two autistic adults present the same way, and the program reflects that. Modules are tailored to your specific profile and adjusted as you progress based on what is most useful to you.
