    IS THIS FOR YOU

Support that doesn't depend on Medicare.

Medicare rebates work well for many people, but not everyone can access one. This option exists for clients who need therapy without that requirement.

You don't have a Mental Health Care Plan

A Medicare rebate requires a valid Mental Health Care Plan from a GP. If you haven't seen a GP, don't want to, or simply want to start sooner, you can book with Bridget directly.

You've already used your 10 rebated sessions this year

Medicare rebates are capped at 10 sessions per calendar year. If you've reached that limit and still want support, a provisional psychologist session is a lower-cost way to continue.

You're not eligible for a Medicare rebate

International students, some visa holders, and other non-Medicare-eligible clients can still access the same evidence-based therapy, at a lower session fee than a registered psychologist.

    UNDERSTANDING PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION

Same clinical training, a different Medicare category.

A provisional psychologist has completed a postgraduate psychology qualification and holds AHPRA registration, and is working through a supervised period of practice on the way to general registration. It is an administrative distinction, not a difference in training or the standard of care.

Bridget holds a Master of Professional Psychology from La Trobe University and practises under the direct supervision of Claudia Hounslow, our Director and a board-approved supervisor. She draws on the same evidence-based frameworks used across our team, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches.

The one practical difference is Medicare. Rebates are only available with registered psychologists, which is why Bridget's session fee is set lower than our registered psychologists, to keep therapy genuinely accessible either way.

    TRANSPARENT PRICING

    Lower fees, on purpose.

If you don't have a valid Mental Health Care Plan or aren't eligible for a Medicare rebate, a registered psychologist session costs $260.30 before 4pm or $270.45 after. With Bridget, the fee is $165 before 4pm or $175 after, a saving of roughly $95 per session.

No Medicare rebate applies to sessions with a provisional psychologist, and we do not offer bulk billing. The fee you see is the fee you pay, with no gap calculation or paperwork.
